A Prayer for You

As a part of my ministry, I often pen prayers for people I love, as the Lord directs. Below is a prayer written for a dear friend — but it truly applies to each of us as we seek God and walk in His ways.

The Voice of the Lord in the Storm | Psalm 29

Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in holy array.

The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord is over many waters.

The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the Lord is majestic.

The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

And He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young ox.

The voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire.

The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the Lord makes the deer to calve, and strips the forests bare,

And in His temple everything says, “Glory!”

The Lord sat as King at the flood; yes, the Lord sits as King forever.

The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.

Song of Songs 2:10-13

Hear ye the word of the Lord. My voice thunders in power. I am King. I sat as King at the flood, and I sit as King in your life. You have knelt before Me, as your King, and I have extended My arms to you, “Come, my daughter. Come away my beautiful one. Come away with me. Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come along. For behold, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers have already appeared in the land; the time has arrived for pruning the vines; and the voice of the turtledove has been heard in our land. The fig tree has ripened its figs, and the vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance. Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come along!”

Come to Me

“My beloved, when the noise and concerns of the world come against you, allow my voice to thunder across your situation and bring peace. The noise is only a distraction to pull you away from Me. But what the noise doesn’t understand is, there is no separating thee from Me. For you see, I have knit us together in your mother’s womb. Yes, that is what I said. As you were formed, my DNA was knit into the very threads of your being.  I am in your personality, your characteristics, your likes, and I am at the very core of your being.

I designed you, my darling, to walk with me through the valleys and to climb with me to the heights. And we have journeyed together – to dark places, yes, but mostly we have journeyed further and further into the light. And now, you are My light. You shine forth, as the daybreak, preparing the way of the Lord. Your season of planting has produced an abundant harvest. The season of pruning has produced an abundant harvest.”

The Harvest is at Hand

“Look to the fields – do you see the harvest which is at hand? You will go out empty handed and return with baskets of abundance. Everything you put your hand to will prosper. Now it the time of reaping what you have sown, and you have sown plentifully and bountifully. You will recognize your years of sowing by the produce and fruits you reap. Well done, good and faithful servant. Continue to walk with me. Rest when you are weary. Sup with me and I will fill you. Do not worry and do not fear. I am with you, my beloved.”

“Behold, the winter is past. The rain is over and gone. The vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance.”
These are not mere words – these are Words spoken over your life, your harvest, your ministry. Continue to sow and reap.
