Happenings and Update

Book Tour and Launch

After publishing “The Making of a Dragonfly”, I spent three months traveling and promoting the book, making stops in Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Texas, and California.

With the second book, “Lessons of a Dragonfly, Forty Days to a Transformed Life”, I am headed to New York to do a book signing. But first, I make a stop in Washington, DC to receive my award from New Generation Indie Awards for the first book, “The Making of a Dragonfly,” which won in the Christian Non-Fiction category. “It is the Lord!”

Promotions for “The Making of a Dragonfly”

I have had two radio interviews for the book, one with “The Review with Joy & Co.” on Fishbowl Radio Network, (July 16, 2018) the other with  Lillian Cauldwell, Passionate World Radio Network. (July 23, 2018). The book has been nominated for the 2018 Henri Award for Best Christian Motivational Book with Joy & Company, and won first place in the 2019 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, Christian Non-Fiction category. And an interview-based article that digs deeper into the book has been published on http://www.seminarygal.com. Finally,  I’ve started a podcast – check it out!

Please remember this book as a gift idea for those seeking God, spiritual maturity, grief counseling, devotional, a Bible study tool or help through midlife. My prayer is for God to use it to help others to more fully understand who HE is.

Lessons From a Dragonfly |The Treasures of Darkness

I have completed my second book. The title, “Lessons of a Dragonfly, Forty Days to a Transformed Life”, is a forty-day devotional, with stories, Bible teaching, prayers, and customized questions to help the reader meditate and dig into their own spiritual journey. In the book I share personal stories of spiritual growth and application.

There are many things God teaches as we navigate pain and confusion. I am a visual learner, so God’s answers often came in the form of pictures. As I drew the picture, I had a basic understanding of what He was teaching me. The basic answer was enough, at the time, to get me through the fog. In writing the second book, I found deeper messages in each of the pictures given. Those deeper meanings are shared in the book, and were gleaned by research and practicing what I believed God was teaching me.

Nesting into New Surroundings

I have settled into my new townhome, serving in my church, and spending as much time with my grandchildren as possible. I’m enjoying time with the daughters and their families and meeting new friends. And I’m serving on the Grant Review Committee of the Dallas Dream Team. a nonprofit ministry that helps smaller ministries reach further into the kingdom by providing financial support. I am also a contributing writer for Frisco Style Magazine.

Keep me in your prayers as I walk in God’s timing. Some days I’m content with His pace, some days I want to push Him to move quicker, and some days I’m running to keep up. When restlessness sets in, God gives me one scripture from 2 Samuel 11:1. “In the time when kings go off to war, David remained in Jerusalem.” I chuckle at this because I know God is warning me against filling my restless days with finding Bathsheba on the rooftop (falling into sinful desires).

A Thank You

To my friend, Peter, who called to say, “You are too quiet. We need an update. What’s happening in your “new life” in Texas? What’s going on with books one and two?” This blog is my response.  Thanks for the push, my friend.
