Whispers of the Father

Lost Memories

Life brings joy and life brings hard seasons. Everyone will have a fair share of each. Throughout life, there have been moments, days, even months and years where I lived in a fog, going through the motions. During those times, my mind failed to register memories. What I do remember is the importance and necessity of staying close to God, leaning into the whispers of His voice. Hiding in Him shielded me from arrows sent from the enemy to target my heart and make me doubt His love.

Whispers of the Father

Many days I felt invisible as I walked and worked through loneliness. Yet, I could hear the whispers of the Father, encouraging me to “stay steady” by calling out to Him. I learned to sit in His presence and to allow Him to do the work of healing. Daily, I reminded myself that I belonged to Him, my Most High and Heavenly Father. His whispers continued, “Hold your head high, you belong to Me.” On the hardest of days, His strong arms held me captive to a love that only a perfect Heavenly Father can give. How? By constantly reminding myself that He was a shield around me, and I was living in the very center of His presence.

Though walking through hard days may seem like an endless journey filled with sadness and loneliness, remember, He is near. Open your heart to God. Invite Him into your situation. Sit in the center of His presence. Use your imagination to place you in the arms of the Most High and Heavenly Father.

His Promises Are Real

On days when you have no enthusiasm or passion for life, remember – God’s promises are real. He has a plan for your life, and it is a good plan. On days when you have no vision, hold on to hope, believing that vision, joy, and passion will return. Steady perseverance births steady faith.

“God so ordered that in pressing on in duty, we shall find the truest, richest comfort for ourselves. Sitting down to brood over our sorrows, the darkness deepens about us and creeps into our heart and our strength changes to weakness. But, if we turn away from the gloom, and take up the tasks and duties to which God calls us, the light will come again, and we shall grow stronger.” J.R. Miller
