Warfare Strategy

What warfare strategy is used in fighting an unseen enemy? We don’t fight with the weapons of man; we go into battle under the leadership of our God.

Throughout scripture, especially in the Old Testament, we see how God directed the kings of Judah and Israel to defeat the enemies who came against them.  We can learn much about God and His warfare strategies by studying His victories in the books of Joshua and 2 Chronicles.

In the New Testament, teaching turns toward battling the unseen enemy: Satan and his principalities. We are taught to love God, to love others, and to understand how the spirit realm impacts our lives daily.

Ephesians 6

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

To be effective and successful in this spiritual battle, we are to wear the full armor of God. Our battle-clothes; our uniforms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm, then with the:

  • BELT OF TRUTH buckled around your waist.
  • BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS in place.
  • FEET fitted with the READINESS that comes from the gospel of peace.
  • SHIELD OF FAITH, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

In addition, pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests and be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

We are to love our enemies, to bless those who curse us, and to go to battle when and as God leads. He is our commander.

Strategy Against the Invisible Enemy Strategy in battle is key. Not only do we battle an invisible enemy, but we battle with invisible forces. We can also battle from a place of victory.  In Exodus 17:8-13, the Amalekite army attacked the Israelites as they were journeying through the

We serve a God who never loses a battle. He is victorious. Always.  Though it appears we have no control over this invisible enemy, let me reassure you – we, as God’s children, have control in ways we do not realize. We have spiritual authority to defeat this enemy and we have weapons
